La Mata - Valenciana is a long, open, east-facing beach just north of Torrevieja. Most of the action gathers at the southern end, where a scattering of rocks helps stabilise the sand and shape the banks. It breaks both ways, but you'll mostly find rights.
When It Works
This sandy beach break picks up swell from the northeast through to the southeast, and it's at its best on a straight east (E) swell. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so there's a decent window across small to head-high days. Consistency is medium, so it won't fire every day, but the setup delivers plenty of workable sessions when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean things up. The beach can work through most of the tide, from low to high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The mellow, forgiving waves make this a friendly spot for beginners finding their feet. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
