La Passe surf guide

La Passe is a surf spot located a little further north of Anse Royale. It’s known for its infrequent but beautiful waves that can really light up under the right conditions. Surfers often come here looking for that perfect moment when the swell aligns just right. The scenery is nice, adding a bit of charm to your surf session, but don't expect it to be a consistent go-to; it can be hit or miss.

The surf here works best with southeast swells and northwesterly winds. When the conditions are right, you can catch some fun right-hand reef waves. The optimal swell direction is from the south, and La Passe can handle swell sizes around 3ft (about 1 meter). The best situation to surf in is during low to mid tide, so keep an eye on the tide charts before you head out. This spot is more suited for intermediate surfers due to the nature of the reef breaks.

While La Passe doesn’t get as much traffic as some other spots, it can still be a worthwhile experience when the swell is firing. Just be prepared for the occasional wait between sets and keep an ear out for local surfers who know the area. Enjoy the ride, but remember to respect the lineup!
