Ladeira is a good-quality beachbreak on a southwest-facing coast, with peaks breaking over sand and offering both lefts and rights.
When It Works
It draws swell from southwest through northwest, with northwest swell the best match, and it comes to life on southwest swells or larger northwest pulses. The break works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. It is a fickle spot that does not fire often, so it pays to catch it on the right day.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind, though the bank also holds up in northerly winds, giving you a reasonable wind window. It is best on low tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave. Because it rarely breaks, the lineup stays quiet and you can usually count on an uncrowded session year-round.
Access
There are restrooms and camping nearby, along with free parking.
