Overview
Lake Worth Pier is a sand-bottom pier break that peels both lefts and rights around the pilings, and it ranks among the more consistent setups in the area once the sandbars settle in. It's a decent-quality wave, with the pier itself shaping the peaks on either side.
When It Works
The pier draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast, with northeast the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, giving a wide working window from waist-high days up to solid overhead swells. Northeast groundswells and southeast windswells both bring it to life, and it stays reliable through autumn, winter, and spring.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind to clean up the faces. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. Smaller swells tend to favor lower tide, while bigger swells hold up closer to high.
Local Tips
It's an approachable wave that suits beginners, and a shortboard or fish covers most days. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working, though the atmosphere is very friendly.
Access
You'll find restrooms, showers, a lifeguard, and a surf shop on hand. Parking comes as roadside spots and a car park, and you'll need to pay to leave the car.
