Overview
Las Cuevas sits at Chapadmalal, the only town of any real size between Mar del Plata and Miramar. It packs in a bit of everything: a decent left reef, a nice but shallow right, and a run of good beachbreak peaks in between. The waves break over a mix of uneven reef and sand.
When It Works
The break draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south, and it works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. You get both lefts and rights across the reefs and the beachbreak peaks between them. It can be inconsistent, so it pays to catch it on a day when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to clean things up. It can work through most of the tide, across low, mid, and high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and the mix of reef and beachbreak peaks gives you a few options to pick from. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.

There's a car park with free parking, plus roadside parking if the lot fills up.
