Overview
Laura is a rare left-hander tucked onto the western tip of the atoll, peeling over live coral. Just to the north sits a quasi beachbreak studded with coral heads that can turn fun and punchy on westerly windswells, though it is often too windy or too small to bother with.
When It Works
It takes a genuine south swell to switch this left on. Laura draws from south to southwest (S-SW), and it works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
The left runs dead offshore on the trades, so look for northeast (NE) wind to clean it up. It can break through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Laura suits intermediate surfers.
