Overview
Le Port is a big-wave reef peak sitting just north of the Possession Harbour entrance. It breaks both left and right over an uneven reef, and it stays rarely ridden and hard to find.
When It Works
The peak draws swell from southwest through southeast, with southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, so it needs real size before it starts to break. Consistency is on the patchy side, so expect to wait for the right window rather than count on it.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean it up. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet. Keep in mind it carries a serious shark factor, so know what you are paddling into before you go.
