Le Truc Vert surf guide

Le Truc Vert is a well-known surf spot located on the Cap-Ferret peninsula, making it popular among surfers and beachgoers alike. The area is lively, especially during summer when the nearby camping attracts many visitors. It's a good place to catch some waves, but be prepared for crowds in front of the parking area.

This spot works best with a swell coming from the west, but it can also handle swells from the southwest and northwest. It can accommodate swell sizes starting from around 1ft (0.3 meters). The waves here break over sand, creating a beach break that offers both left and right-hand waves. The best conditions are typically found with an east wind, and the spot is pretty versatile, as it works during low, mid, and high tides. Keep in mind that this is better suited for intermediate surfers, as the currents can be strong and may require some skill to navigate.

Aside from the surfing, the area can get quite busy in the summer months. If you decide to visit, be ready to share the waves with others, and make sure to enjoy the vibe of this popular beach spot.
