Overview
Les Cul Nuls is a sandy beach break that bridges the mellower beachbreaks to the north and the heavier shorebreak of La Graviere. It throws powerful, punchy waves close to shore and peels both left and right. When the swell gets serious it has genuine pedigree, hosting the Quik Pro in 2010 and producing astonishing barrels in tow-out conditions.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from west through north, with northwest swell the best match. It is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft, giving a wide working range once a proper pulse arrives. A steeper beach angle means it comes alive on a moderate swell, particularly from mid to high tide. Consistency is moderate, and small summer swells tend to leave it dormant, so it rewards patience.
Wind and Tide
Look for east offshore wind to clean it up. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a punchy wave best suited to intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it turns on.
Access
Parking is roadside and free, though watch for soft sand where you pull off. Reaching the water means long slatted paths across the stabilised dunes, and there are no facilities at the beach.
