Overview
Little Fistral is a high-performance beachbreak that runs fast and hollow over sand, throwing up both lefts and rights. It sits on the UK's most famous beach, a stretch that packs in several quality breaks and draws many of the country's top pros.
When It Works
The bank pulls in swell from southwest through northwest (SW-NW), and it lines up best on a west swell. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, giving a wide window of rideable size.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast offshore wind. Low tide is the optimal window, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a busy lineup filled with the area's best riders and a large local contingent whenever it's on.
Access
There's a small car park on the headland overlooking the break, with paid parking and restrooms. Watch the rocks, which become a hazard on the rising tide.
