Overview
Little Talbot Island is a sand-bottomed beachbreak inside Little Talbot Island State Park, a long stretch of pristine beach that peels both left and right. It's a beautiful setting with plenty of sea life, though strong currents run through here, and it draws surfers and beach-goers alike.
When It Works
The beach pulls in swell from south to north (S-N), with a northeast (NE) swell the best match, and it's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. For something with more punch, take the long walk to the north, where a left tends to break bigger and more powerful and works on either side of low.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind. The beach holds just about any swell direction as long as it's low tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

With its mellow sand-bottom setup, this beach suits beginners well.
