Los Cocos surf guide

Los Cocos is a popular surf spot known for its consistency. It’s located near the Los Coquitos jetty and has several peaks down the beach. Due to its popularity, it can get quite crowded, especially during peak surf season. Make sure to be prepared for a lively scene.

This break mainly handles swells from the North and East. It works best with a north-east swell direction. The waves can start rolling in at around 2 feet (0.6 meters) and can go up from there. Los Cocos produces fun lefts, making it a great spot for beginners. It's best to catch the waves when the tide is low, mid, or high, and the wind coming from the south helps the conditions. Keep an eye on the surf as the vibe can change quickly.

If you’re just starting out or improving your skills, Los Cocos is a good place to practice, but be ready for the crowds. It's a mix of locals and travelers, so sometimes the attitude can be a bit much. Just stay chill and enjoy the surf!
