Overview
Los Naranjos sits just east of Arrecifes on Colombia's Caribbean coast, and it's arguably the prettier of the pair. A small stream reaches the beach here and builds a reliable sandbar in front of a run of dramatic rock pillars. The wave gets hollow and generally breaks cleaner than neighbouring Arrecifes.
When It Works
Los Naranjos is a left-hander that draws swell from north to northeast, with northeast (NE) the best match. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and holds size right up to the top of that range. Consistency is moderate, so it won't fire every day, but the sandbar comes to life when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for south (S) offshore wind to groom the faces. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, though a rising tide is the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay small, so you're unlikely to be jostling for sets when it's on.
Access
There's camping close by, and parking is paid with some restrictions.
