Losmen Right surf guide

Losmen Right is a surf spot located round the backside near the Muara harbor where the ferry from Padang docks. It's not one of the most famous breaks, but it has its charm and gets some consistent swell. Many surfers drop by for a session when the conditions are right, so be prepared for some company in the water.

This spot works best with a southeast swell, which is its optimal direction, but it can also handle swells coming from the south. The waves here typically break over live coral, so just keep that in mind. Losmen Right is known for its right-hand waves, which are perfect for intermediate surfers looking to progress. The wave size is manageable, generally handling swells as low as 2 feet (0.6 meters) up to larger sizes. The best time to surf here is during low, mid, and high tide, with the ideal wind coming from the south.

If you're heading to Losmen Right, it's a good idea to check with the local captains, as they often know the best conditions and when to hit the waves. The area also has a few mellow breaks nearby like Taileleo and Pearlers peak, which can be nice alternatives if Losmen Right gets crowded or isn't firing. Make sure you keep an eye on the swell and tide charts to catch it at its best!
