Overview
Losmen Right is a right-hand reef break that peels over live coral, one of the mellower waves in the playgrounds area. It sits round the backside near the Muara harbour, where the ferry from Padang docks.
When It Works
The wave draws swell from the southeast through south (SE-S), with southeast (SE) the pick of the directions. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency can be hit or miss, so it pays to be ready when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind. Losmen Right can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a fairly quiet lineup when it turns on.
