Magheroaty surf guide

Magheroaty is a surf spot located in front of the harbour, known for its lefthand boulder reef. It faces a northern direction and is best suited for experienced surfers. The best conditions typically occur when there's a northwest or west-northwest swell coming in.

This spot can handle swell sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and is ideal when the waves are wrapping in nicely. The reef breaks over boulders, providing a fun ride, especially when the tide is low to mid. You'll want to look for south-east winds to get the best waves. Long rides can be found here, but it’s important to be cautious as the area is fairly shallow.

When heading to Magheroaty, parking is available at the Harbour car park. Since this spot is primarily for expert surfers, it's a good plan to know your limits and manage your session accordingly.
