Overview
Manzanita - Neahkahnie is an average beachbreak that gets a lift from easy access and a cute, upscale beach community. The sand-bottom beach is the main event, but the reef just north of Neahkahnie Beach can fire on a clean north-to-west swell, throwing out a long, grinding right-hand point wave. Big rocks in the impact zone along the cobble point keep most of the rideable surf in the beach-headland corner on smaller swells.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from southwest through north (SW-N), with west (W) swell the best match. It breaks both left and right over sand and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is moderate, so it pays to catch it when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean it up. It works on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a friendly spot for beginners, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet.

Parking is free and roadside, so just pull in where any small lane meets the sand.
