Marigot surf guide

Marigot is a surf spot located on the south coast near Jacmel. It's not the most reliable place for surfing from July to September, but it can be decent when the swell picks up. The area is pretty scenic, especially along the coast road, with some nice views of the coastline and surrounding gingerbread houses.

The surfing at Marigot mainly features left point breaks that can handle swells coming from the southeast, east, and south. When the swell is around 2 ft (0.6 m) and up to 3 ft (1 m), you can find some fast and tight-to-shore waves breaking over boulders. The waves can get hollow in certain sections, but keep in mind that it's more suited for expert surfers. The best winds for a good surf are from the north, and low to mid tide tends to work best here.

Getting to the spot is straightforward. Just follow the rivermouth to the coast, and you’ll end up just east of Marigot. The area's mix of reefs and rivermouths is quite something, so take a look around—there might be other spots worth checking out depending on the conditions.
