Overview
Miradouro is a short left pointbreak that peels over sand in murky water. It sits by the Cuanza River, which marks the entrance of Quissama National Park, with the reliable Onça beachbreak a short distance away for smaller swells.
When It Works
The point draws swell from south to southwest and is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. It's a moderately consistent left, so rideable days come around fairly often without being a sure thing.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind. It breaks on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a spot for intermediate surfers, and the lineup stays fairly quiet, so it rarely feels busy.
Access
Reaching the spot takes a 4x4 even in the best conditions, and the track becomes impassable after rain. Watch for falling cliffs, which are the main danger here.
