Mukies 2 is a left-hand point that earns an excellent rating when it lines up. The bottom is mainly sand over uneven reef, so the wave can be a little variable from session to session, but it holds up on all tides and every so often turns genuinely hollow.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through west, with southwest (SW) the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and it breaks consistently, so there are reliable windows to catch it on across that range.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind to clean it up. The point can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediates well, and the paddle out is easier than the other spots around here. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
