Overview
Mwahnd Lefts is a left-hand reef break that peels over dead coral. When it turns on it can hold big swell and serves up fun walls, good hooks, and quick barrels.
When It Works
It draws swell from northwest through north to east, with north swell the best match. The wave is usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft and stays moderately consistent. Early season is the time to go, when the trade winds ease off.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup stays fairly quiet. It is often empty, since getting good wind out here is always a gamble.
Access
Getting out to the break takes a 20-minute boat ride.
