Overview
Nai Harn Beach breaks over sand and holds a right in the corner by Le Royal Meridien Phuket Yacht Club, where a reef sits at the north end alongside beach peaks. Near the lagoon outflow, sandbanks form even when it's small, producing speedy walls and longer rides.
When It Works
Sitting furthest south, Nai Harn can hold bigger swells than the spots up the coast. It draws swell from southwest through west, with southwest the best match, and works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. It's only moderately consistent, so expect quiet spells between windows, but the crew turns up when it's on.
Wind and Tide
Nai Harn really comes alive when the wind and tide are both low. Look for a northeast offshore wind. It works on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
