Overview
Narooma is a stretch of right-hand breaks that has something for just about everyone in most swells. The waves spread out along the coast, from the outside rights off the Breakwall, up through the peaks at Bar Beach, to the right-hand point at Kianga. Everything breaks over sand, and the spot turns up consistently.
When It Works
Narooma pulls in swell from the northeast through east-southeast to south, and it comes into its own on a southeast (SE) swell. There's a broad range of sizes to play with here, as it stays usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft.
Wind and Tide
A west (W) offshore wind is what cleans things up. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one sits comfortably in intermediate territory. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on. Keep an eye out for rips around the breakwall, and be aware there are sharks in the area.
Access
There's a car park with free parking, along with paid and roadside parking options.
