Nesika Beach is a better-than-average beachbreak on the Oregon coast, breaking over sand with the south end of the beach usually holding the best banks. It peels both left and right, so there is room to spread out and pick a peak.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from south through west-southwest to northwest (S-WSW-NW), and it comes into its own on a northwest swell. It stays consistent and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
The workable wind is offshore from the east. Nesika blows out quickly on a northwest wind, so the cleanest sessions come when it is glassy or under a light south breeze. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an approachable, beginner-friendly beachbreak, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet even when it is on.
Access
There is a car park with free parking plus roadside parking, and restrooms at the renovated rest area. Park near that rest area, since the sandbars have been best in that stretch in recent years.
