Overview
Ninja's is a right-hand reef break that peels over dead coral in front of Club Med on Kanifinolhu, out in the Maldives. The rights are easygoing and suit improvers and cruisers after small, clean surf rather than anything with much punch.
When It Works
Ninja's draws swell from southeast through south, with south swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.5 m / 5 ft; once the surf pushes past shoulder-high it tends to close out and lose its shape, so the smaller, cleaner days are the ones to target. Consistency can be a little hit or miss, so it pays to catch it when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind to groom the face. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup stays quiet, so you rarely have to jockey for waves. It's a forgiving, beginner-friendly right, which makes it a good place to pick off easy ones on a small, clean day.
Access
Getting there is a 30-minute boat trip north, dropping you right in front of Club Med on Kanifinolhu.
