Overview
North Wall is a jetty break at Coffs Harbour, where a right-hander known as the Wedge spins off the wall alongside a tidy apex peak. Further out sits Reef, a slab that sucks off the rocks and goes square before shutting down, which makes it a favourite with bodyboarders. The main peaks break over sand and need a proper swell with a good covering of water to come to life.
When It Works
North Wall is a right that draws swell from northeast through southeast, with southeast (SE) swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft and stays consistent, showing up reliably whenever there's swell in the water.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind. The break can work through most of the tide, across low, mid, and high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave is approachable enough for beginners, and you can expect a busy lineup when it's on. The locals can be sensitive here, so read the lineup and mind your manners. After rain, be wary of pollution, as Coffs Creek can overflow with sewage and commercial waste when it backs up the sewage works.
Access
Parking is easy, with a car park offering free spaces alongside paid and roadside options.
