Overview
Oceanside Beach is a beachbreak that throws up peaks around the Oceanside Pier and on down the sand to the south. It breaks over sand and serves up both lefts and rights.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from south through west-southwest to northwest (S-WSW-NW), and it really comes alive with a peaky south swell. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind. The break favors low tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. Waves run hollower down low and turn softer as the tide fills in.
Local Tips
Expect a crowd when it's on, and be ready for locals who can be unfriendly.
Access
There are various access points along The Strand. Keep in mind the area has a high crime rate.
