Outside Naru is a right-hand reef break and the closest right to the Sanbis and Fatboys resorts, just a seven-minute dinghy ride from either. The wave peels over live coral.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through southeast, and it picks up southeast (SE) swell straight on, which is the best direction for it. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and stays moderately consistent, so you can count on rideable waves fairly often without it being a sure thing every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean it up. The reef breaks on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an approachable right for intermediate surfers, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet.
