Pansea Beach is a short 250 m (820 ft) stretch of sand that forms nice sandbanks at times, with a right reefbreak off the northern headland near the Chedi Resort. That reef peels right over a mix of boulders and sand, on shallow coral that only comes into play at lower tides.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through west, with southwest swell the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is on the thin side, and the reef is even less reliable than the surrounding beaches, so it can take some patience to catch it on a good window.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind to clean it up. The reef surfs on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The shallow coral makes this an expert-level wave, best left to confident surfers. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's on.
