Overview
Pantai Camara is a right-hand river mouth wave that breaks over sand, tucked north of Leupung. When the swell shows up, it can turn on perfect, long rights peeling off the rivermouth.
When It Works
The catch here is that it needs swell to come alive. It draws swell from south through west, with southwest the direction that lines it up best. Expect it to be surfable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so you want enough size on the water before making the trip.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind to clean up the rights. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The long, peeling rights suit intermediate surfers well when the wave is doing its thing.
