Parlementia is a deepwater right-hand reef off Guéthary, a shifting Sunset-style A-frame that peaks well out from the rocky shore and always looks smaller than it really is. It rewards long, drawn-out bottom turns, swooping cutbacks, and committed rail work, so it tends to be a thinking surfer's wave. There's also a left running off the peak back across the inner reef.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from west through north (W-N), with northwest (NW) the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 5.5 m / 18 ft, holding its shape from overhead runners up to big, drawn-out faces. Breaking over a rock ledge, it stays moderately consistent and is rideable year-round, though the autumn-into-winter window from October to February is when it really turns on.
Wind and Tide
Sitting so far out, Parlementia is sensitive to wind and wants a clean east (E) offshore. It can work through most of the tide, across low, mid, and high, with a rising tide generally the better call. Smaller swells need a lower tide to break properly, and paddling out from the harbour helps you skip the rock slalom when the tide is down.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-level wave with a long paddle, so plan your session around it. Board choice tracks the size: shortboards handle the faster rights on smaller days, while longboards and guns come into their own once the outside peak starts pulsing. The lineup usually stays fairly quiet, and the atmosphere can feel somewhat reserved.

There's a car park with free parking plus roadside parking nearby, along with restrooms, showers, and a surf shop close to the break.
