Pavos is a sand-bottom beach break just north of Baranquito, sitting south of Miraflores along the Barranco district's shoreline. The beach itself is sandy and pleasant, but the wave here really only suits bodyboarders. Launches are through shoredump, since the water is deep between the beach and the outside bar. These Barranco beaches face northwest, so they need larger south to southwest swells to wrap in, though they'll also break on a straight northwest swell.
When It Works
The break peels both left and right over sand. It draws swell from south through west-southwest to northwest (S-WSW-NW), with southwest (SW) the best match for lining things up. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so there's a decent working window once a swell is running. Expect it to be moderately consistent, with worthwhile sessions when the setup comes together.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The bank works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one is for experts, and the shoredump entries reward surfers who know the spot. Expect a busy lineup when it's on.
Access
There's a car park nearby with paid parking.
