Pelzerharken is a sand-bottomed beach break that peels both left and right. Cold water and onshore slop are the norm here, so genuinely clean sessions take some patience.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from the northeast through east, and it comes into its own on a northeast (NE) swell. The catch is that it often lacks the east swell it relies on, so it can go long stretches without much on offer. When there is size, it's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean up the surface, which is also the direction that makes the spot break offshore. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
