Overview
Perlemoen Bay is a right-hand point that breaks over boulders. There's a second option here too: a fun, triangular left-hand reef over sand and boulders, so you've got a couple of ways to surf the bay depending on conditions.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through west, with west (W) swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and tends to be moderately consistent, coming good when the setup lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. The right-hand point favours high tide, while the left-hand reef tends to come alive at lower tides.
Local Tips
Perlemoen Bay suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet.
Access
There's camping nearby, and you'll find free roadside parking.
