Pine Point is a surf spot located where the Scarborough River flows into Saco Bay. The beach is crescent-shaped and leads around to a sandspit. This area offers average beach breaks at all tides, but it can serve up some decent waves when conditions align. It’s a good spot to check out if you’re nearby, especially when you’re looking for something less crowded.

The waves here work best with a southeast swell in the range of 4 to 6 feet (1.2 to 1.8 meters). You can catch both left and right beach breaks, and if you're lucky, that long lefthander might run perfectly down the western side of the sandspit, but only at low tide. The ideal wind comes from the northwest, and you’ll find it can handle swell sizes down to 3 feet (0.9 meters). During low and mid tides, it really can be fun if everything lines up right.

If you’re planning to visit, keep in mind that access is free in winter, but the parking situation changes in summer—you’ll need to pay for spots then. The consistency isn’t the highest here, so you might not always find it working, but if you do, you’re likely to have the waves to yourself.
