Point Impossible surf guide

Point Impossible is a surf spot located near Breamlea, with a mix of reef and beach break options. It's not the most popular spot, but it can offer some fun days in the right conditions. The area features two separate reef slabs, where you'll find mostly right-hand waves that are best enjoyed by intermediate surfers. It's not a spot known for speed or steepness, but it can still be entertaining for those looking for an easy ride.

The optimal swell direction for Point Impossible is from the SouthWest, with the spot handling swell sizes around 2ft (0.6 meters). On a good day, you can expect some righthanders to break over the rock ledge. The best surf comes with a NorthWest wind, which sets up the waves nicely. It works well on low to mid-tide, so timing your sessions can make a difference in getting the best conditions.

In the vicinity, you’ll also find Bancoora, which can deliver some decent quality righthanders when the SE swell and N wind align just right. Although it has its days, Point Impossible doesn't get too crowded, largely because of local talk about sharks and a sewage outfall. If you're looking for a quieter place to surf with some fun backsides, it's worth checking out when the swell is right.
