Polkerris is a gentle beachbreak on Par Sands, well suited to beginners. The waves are slow and dribbling, rolling over sand into both lefts and rights, so it's an easy place to find your feet.
When It Works
It draws swell from east through south to southwest (E-S-SW), with south swell the best match. Polkerris is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, coming to life on smaller, forgiving days.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind to tidy up the surface. The beach works through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
There's a car park right by the beach, and camping is available among the facilities.
