Pourville surf guide

Pourville is a beach spot located along the D75, known for its boulder and sand beach setup. It features several peaks located to the west of the rivermouth, making it an interesting place for surfers looking for different options. The area has a large pay-to-use car park for easier access to the surf.

The surf here works best with a NorthEast swell direction, but you can also catch waves coming from the West. It can handle swell sizes starting from about 1 foot (0.3 meters). Waves break over both boulders and sand, so there’s variety. You’ll find left and right waves, perfect for different styles and preferences. Beginners can have a good time here, especially when the conditions are right. The wind from the SouthEast is preferable, and the waves work best during mid tides.

The water tends to be turbid and milky due to the nearby limestone cliffs, which can give the surf an interesting feel. On those rare days when you get a big, glassy swell with a good offshore wind, Pourville can serve up some decent rides. While the shorebreak and the righthand slab to the east are typically better for bodyboarders, surfers will find plenty of spots to enjoy if you time it right.
