Pulau Kecil is a reef break on an island off the east-coast town of Berebere, breaking over live coral. Its main draw is a long, wrapping righthander, though there's a left here too, and the whole east coast holds genuine potential.
When It Works
The right draws swell from north to east (N-E), with northeast (NE) swell the best match, and it's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Expect a somewhat inconsistent, fickle setup, since prevailing northeast winds often blow onshore across this coast.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup stays quiet, and this is a wave for expert surfers. When the swell gets big, it's worth checking the lefts down near Sangawo.
