Punta Roquitas is part of the Costa Verde, the string of beaches at the foot of the cliffs below Lima's Miraflores district. It offers unchallenging, consistent lefts and rights, with stones and boulders rolling around in the shorebreak.
When It Works
Consistency is a strong point here. The wave draws swell from south through southwest, with southwest swell the best match, breaking over boulders. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft; once it pushes past overhead, you're better off looking further south. It also tends to carry a bit more push than the neighbouring jetties.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind. It works across low, mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a beginner-friendly wave that still draws the better surfers and bodyboarders chasing that extra push. It's a popular spot, so expect a busy lineup whenever it's working.
