The surf at Raglan Bar is mainly good for intermediate surfers. You can expect left and right breaking waves with the best conditions when the swell comes from the southwest or northwest. The ideal swell sizes are around 2ft (0.6m), and the breaks are over sand. Low to mid tide is preferable for optimal surfing. Keep in mind that sometimes the waves can be fast and hollow, which may require some skill to navigate effectively.
