Rock surf guide

Rock is a surf spot located near Anjou Port. It's known for its right-hand barrels, which can be pretty fun on the right day. That said, it's less consistent than some other spots in the area, like Hungry, so you might not always find great waves here. The wave quality tends to attract local experts who are looking for a challenge. Just keep in mind that the conditions can be a bit hit or miss.

This spot works best with a big southeast swell, but east swells can hit it a bit straight. Ideal wave heights are around head-high or more, where you can catch nice barrels, but on bigger days, the wave tends to become more of a wall. Rock handles swell sizes starting from about 3 ft (1 meter) and can really come alive when the tide is low, mid, or high, but you’ll want to keep your skills at an expert level to navigate the uneven reef effectively.

If you're planning to surf here, the best wind direction is from the southwest, which helps create cleaner waves. Just be cautious of the rocks in the area; they can create some hazards if you're not paying attention. Overall, it's a spot for those looking to test their skills against a less forgiving wave.
