Rocky's is a slabby left that breaks over an uneven rock shelf and throws proper barrels when it's on. The take-offs are heavy and the lips are thick, so this is a wave for experts only when it's firing.
When It Works
Rocky's draws swell from southwest through southeast (SW-SE), with southeast (SE) the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. Expect it to be moderately consistent, and less reliable than the right next door.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind. It breaks on low and mid tide, with a rising tide the better call.
Local Tips
This is expert-only terrain when it turns on. The lineup tends to stay fairly quiet, and the heavy take-offs and thick lips are a big reason it draws far fewer surfers than the right.
Access
Reaching Rocky's means paddling across the channel from the right, and that channel is known to hold sharks. There's a car park with free parking.
