Overview
Salaverry Harbour is a sand-bottom setup that breaks between the jetties, where an A-frame peak holds size and has a handy channel running off either side. The beachbreak carries on up to another jetty at Delicious Beach, though good shape is hard to come by along that stretch. Head south and you'll find exposed beaches and headlands running down to the heavily sheltered, somewhat hoaxy lefts of Puerto Mori. This is a busy shipping area, so the water is liable to harbour pollution.
When It Works
The peak throws both lefts and rights and it's a consistent spot, so there's usually something to look at. It draws swell from south through west, with southwest the direction that lines it up best. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
When it's small this is a nice beach for beginners, with the channels either side of the peak making it easy to get around. It changes character once the waves are overhead, though, and gets heavy. Expect a fairly quiet lineup.
