Overview
Salinas Cruz Jetty, also known as Bamba, is a short, sucky right-hander that breaks over boulders and sand off the rocky tip of the jetty. West of the big port, the separate Playa Abierta can throw up thumping A-frames on bigger swells and smaller tides if you want a nearby alternative.
When It Works
The right is consistent and often keeps working when other spots in the area have gone too small. It draws swell from southwest through southeast, with southwest swell the best match, and stays rideable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to clean it up. The jetty can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Bamba suits intermediate surfers more than beginners: the take-off zone is tiny and the rocks can be sketchy, leaving little room for error. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on, especially since it holds up when everywhere else has gone flat.

Parking is straightforward, with free roadside parking near the break.
