The beach pulls in swell from a wide window running south through north, and it comes together best on a west (W) swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, with moderately consistent conditions across the year. The stretch from San Gregorio up to Tunitas Creek can throw up some punchier peaks, and that tends to happen in summer.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east (E) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The beach works on mid and high tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call. Those punchier peaks up toward Tunitas Creek show best on a medium-high tide paired with that east wind.
