Sapphire Street is a right-hand sandbar break on the south side of the jetty in Redondo Beach. The waves peel over sand, and it holds up as a consistent option when the setup lines up.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from southwest through northwest (SW-NW), with west swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, and the standout sessions tend to come on larger west-southwest swell or a big windswell. Spring is a good time to catch it. It picks up far less swell than nearby Topaz Street, but that trade-off pays off when northwest wind is blowing out other spots in the area, making this a reliable fallback.
Wind and Tide
Look for east offshore wind to clean it up. The sandbar favors low tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
