Overview
Sauble Beach is a sand-bottomed beachbreak tucked into the southern confines of Georgian Bay, peeling both left and right. It's windy and messy for much of the time, though a handful of reefbreaks nearby can break with real size during the rarer northwest gales.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from the southwest through northwest, with northwest (NW) the direction it likes best. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and tends to be somewhat inconsistent, so timing your sessions pays off. A northwest or southwest wind can stir up anything from mellow to juicy waves, which is part of why it's a favourite among kiters.
Wind and Tide
The cleanest conditions come with an east (E) offshore wind. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

This is an approachable, beginner-friendly spot, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
