Schiermonnikoog is a Dutch beach spot that comes to life on northerly swell. It draws swell anywhere from north through the west round to southwest, but a straight north swell is the pick when you want the cleanest waves. It runs on smaller surf, working from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.5 m / 5 ft.
Tide is forgiving here: high, mid, and low all turn something up, and both rising and falling water can deliver, so timing your session is easy. When you can catch it, aim for low tide for the best of it.
