Overview
Schouwen Duiveland is a run of below-average beachbreaks on the island of the same name, with the surf centred around Nieuw-Haamstede. It offers left and right peaks over a sand bottom, better suited to a mellow session than anything world-class.
When It Works
The beaches pick up swell from the southwest through north, and it comes together best on a northwest swell. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft. Consistency is a bit hit and miss, so it pays to wait for the right window.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east offshore wind to clean things up. Despite the northwest-facing coast, offshore sandbanks tend to block the swell and it often ends up smaller than Domburg, which is why high tide is the call here, ideally on a rising tide.

This is friendly, beginner-level surf, and the lineup stays quiet even when it's working.
